Overview

NextGen Shared Services (NGSS) is the collection of microservices that provide the various operations necessary to support VA Mobile applications (end-user web and backend), via a consistently-defined and normalized set of APIs and usage models that aim to simplify the setup, testing, and integration with core VA services.

It can be thought of as a set of microservice adapters and utilities that provide value by making it easier for application developers to implement solutions as quickly and securely as possible.

This collection of guides and specifications only cover the technical aspects of the development of NGSS shared services, as well the tools that assist with this development.

It does not contain any project-level processes or role definitions such as how tasks are managed and how to create issues and various non-functional project requirements.
